AlisA Sargsyan

Music Educator

Teaching has always been an essential part of Alisa Sargsyan’s musical life. As a music educator, she is passionate about helping students understand not only how music works, but why it matters—historically, culturally, and personally.
After graduating from the Conservatory of Music, Alisa joined the Conservatory’s faculty, where she taught the history of piano performance, guiding students through the evolution of pianistic traditions and interpretive styles. This experience shaped her belief that great musicianship grows from curiosity, context, and a strong connection to musical heritage.

Upon moving to the United States, Alisa continued teaching at the University of Washington, working as a teaching assistant in music theory, aural skills, polyphony, and counterpoint. Alisa has also taught music appreciation to K–12 students at the Quality Schools International, and piano performance at the Music and Arts Studio. Currently, she teaches music appreciation at the college level and maintains a private studio in piano and composition, working with students of all ages and backgrounds.

Beyond traditional lessons, Alisa loves creating learning experiences that invite discovery. She has developed a unique educational program for young learners exploring the history of ballet and its composers. Alisa enjoys helping students connect music with storytelling rooting her teaching approach in openness, cultural curiosity, and the belief that music education should inspire both understanding and joy.
